The Position

We are excited to on-board a passionate, hard working person in this intermediate level role into our next great Data Visualization Analyst. This person will help drive our client's business decisions by creating dynamic and powerful data visualizations. The employee will work directly with customers who range from small independent companies to large financial institutions.

As a data team, what we look for in you?

Generally

• Be able to clearly identify the questions and objectives that drive each project and use to guide both planning and refinement.

• Present your work in ways that empower the clients to make better-informed decisions.

• Be accountable for timeliness, completion and accuracy of the deliverables.

• Conduct relevant research, perform data analysis and create appropriate reports for clients.

• Respect and invite fair criticism while promoting the identification and open discussion of errors, risks and unintended consequences of your work.

Technically

Responsibilities & Initiatives

• Utilizing Tableau to build and improve interactive, web-based dashboards for clients and prospects.

• Interacting directly with the product team and relationship managers to scope out and build dashboards.

• Scale up existing dashboards and back end data so they are production ready.

• Being adept in the display of quantitative information through charts, graphs, tables, and bespoke visualizations.

• Being able to tell engaging stories in different mediums – presentations, infographics, or script input and support.

• Working with internal data resources to ensure you have the data you need to provide the answers.

• Intermediate understanding of data formatting, processing and transformation.

Core Competencies

• Effective and engaging written and verbal communication.

• Understanding how people perceive the visual display of data.

• Converting data and insight into engaging stories.

Experience & Skills

• All majors are encouraged to apply, however, a strong finance, business, engineering, mathematics, and/or statistics background is preferred.

• Extensive experience with data visualization tools, specifically Tableau/Microsoft Power BI.

• Experience with SAS language, SQL databases & data integration/ ETL tools such as Data Stage, Informatica.

• Strong quantitative and analytical aptitude.

• Excellent problem solving skills as well as ability to work with large amounts of data.

• Ability to meet tight deadlines and to effectively prioritize multiple projects.

• Proficient in MS PowerPoint presentation creation.

• Knowledge of R, Python, Qlik & Graphics editor like Illustrator is a plus.
